ElecAxis

The model becomes the engineering database.

Three Revit plugins born of eleven years in the field on large industrial projects. They locate, they zone, they compute lengths — and every quantity stays selectable in the model.

01 / ELECAXIS LOCATE

An Excel row becomes an auditable object.

The host model and every linked model, searched by shared parameter. A cube is placed at the exact source, carrying the whole electrical payload.

02 / ELECAXIS ZONES

The volume passes its identity to every cube inside.

You identify the volume once. The hundreds of cubes it contains receive that identity, detected automatically.

03 / ELECAXIS ROUTE

Lengths computed on the trays you modelled.

Misalignments, broken connections, skewed geometry: ROUTE projects, repairs, and always finds its way through.

Weeks of manual entry become a few clicks.

257.83 hours of repetitive production on a 1,000-equipment project. With ElecAxis: less than one working day.

35.9 engineer-days back. Per project.

Back on engineering worth doing, instead of on data entry.

ElecAxis

It all goes in. It all comes out. It all holds up.

Three plugins for Autodesk Revit 2023 and 2024. Per-user install, no admin rights.

The idea

Geometry becomes the centre of the data and the audit.

The load schedule goes into the model. Volumes, lengths and reports come out. In between, every value stays attached to an element you can select, frame and show.

The model stops being a drawing. It becomes the input and output database of the study: what you feed it, what it computes, what it gives back, and the trail of every revision. When a quantity gets questioned, you open the model and show it.

The gain

36.8 days become less than one.

Reference case: a 1,000-equipment project with 50 volumes, same scope on both sides. The engineer's technical validation is excluded from both timings — it is owed either way. Only the repetitive production disappears.

35.9days

of production handed back to engineering, per project delivered.

97.4%

of repetitive production time avoided, for an identical deliverable.

€17,579released

of engineering capacity, on a 1,000-equipment project.

171equipments

to process before an annual licence pays for itself — 17% of one reference project.

Recurring value

One linked-model revision

The linked model comes back at a new revision. By hand that is two days of analysis and extraction, €980. With ElecAxis it is twenty-five minutes: the comparison runs against the baseline held inside your own model. The gain returns at every revision, for the life of the project.

Recurring value

One cable-register re-issue

The cable data changes and the register has to be re-issued. By hand that is ten days of rework, type by type, €4,900. With ElecAxis it is under five hours: the specifications change in the controlled workbook and the register regenerates with no re-entry at all.

Recurring value

One 50-model audit campaign

Checking the other packages' models takes ten BIM-manager days, €7,000. With ElecAxis it is fifty minutes, and every model comes back with its own comparison workbook, naming the contractual items that are missing.

Scope: ROUTE covers two separate manual deliverables, the cable lengths and the cable register, which is why its share is the largest. Assumptions: €70/h loaded engineer cost, a seven-hour productive day, manual rates of 80 equipments per day for locating, 300 for zoning, 100 for routing and 100 for the cable register. The ElecAxis durations published here are deliberately conservative: on a 58-route batch measured in production, real simulation and generation ran 1.9 and 1.7 times faster than the figures quoted. These are experience estimates, not certified measurements, and they are meant to be replaced: over the first twelve cycles your own medians replace every line above. Released capacity only becomes a cash saving if the cost is genuinely avoided or reassigned.

Where this comes from

Designed, developed and built by the people who used to do it by hand.

This is not an IT product pointed at construction. It is eleven years in the field on large industrial projects, turned into tools.

The conventions, the classifications, the shared parameters, the worksets, the way BIM coordination actually goes between every trade on site: all of it was known before the first line of code. That is why the plugins bend to your method instead of imposing one on you.

Your conventions, not ours.

Shared parameters are resolved by GUID, never by display name, so a renamed parameter never breaks the match. Your naming, your classifications and your package codes are taken exactly as they are.

The engineer decides, the tool produces.

Nothing is written into the model without explicit approval. Duplicates, ambiguous cases and out-of-scope items stay visible in the audit and out of the totals. Every deletion asks first.

Built for BIM coordination.

Host model and linked models handled together, linked geometry transformed into host coordinates, a destination workset of your choosing, and a revision baseline kept inside your own model.

How the three fit together

One chain, three plugins.

The data keeps one identity, from the input Excel file to the report you can defend. Each plugin earns its place alone; together they remove every intermediate re-entry. Nothing is retyped and nothing is guessed.

01 · ELECAXIS LOCATE

An Excel row becomes an auditable object.

You have the load schedule. The model has the geometry. Nobody has both in the same place.

LOCATE indexes the host model and every linked model by shared parameter, resolved by GUID rather than by display name. Feed it the controlled Excel workbook and it places a cube at the exact centre of every source it finds, writes the whole electrical payload onto it — absorbed and apparent power, phases, voltage, attachment, package — and reports every duplicate instead of hiding it.

Not just an object. An object that is maintainable, auditable, and carries the whole engineering payload: 76 GUID-locked fields on every cube.

  • Exact lookup, host model and linked models
  • Shared parameters resolved by GUID
  • 32-column controlled Excel template
  • Templates and reports in French or English
  • Generic Model, Mechanical or Speciality Equipment
  • Revision baseline and change audit
  • 76 GUID-locked fields on every cube

01 · Cubes placed at the exact transformed source
  1. Index

Pick your models, your categories and your shared parameter. The index is built once and reused.

  2. Locate

Type a value. The element is selected and framed in a temporary 3D section box you can restore at any time.

  3. Mark

Every planned action is visible before anything is written. Category conflicts stay blocked until you lift them explicitly.

When the linked model comes back at a new revision, LOCATE compares it against the baseline kept in your host model and tells you what moved, what arrived, and what is no longer there. Anything it cannot see is reported as unavailable, never as deleted.

02 · ELECAXIS ZONES

Electrical volumes that pass their identity to every cube inside.

An electrical zone is not a Revit Room. It is a volume you give an identity to — switchgear room, technical shaft, ATEX area, production cell — and it passes that identity automatically to the hundreds of cubes it contains.

Revit Rooms need a properly enclosed region and a level to sit on. An industrial building almost never offers either: mezzanines cut through, technical spaces run between levels, and half the boundary lives in a linked structural model.

ZONES ignores Rooms. It floods the model from the outside, treats walls as continuous barriers regardless of door cuts, pairs opposing floor, ceiling and roof faces, closes modelling defects by inference, and returns the enclosed air as real geometry you can see, name and export.

You name the volume once. Weeks of manual entry become a few clicks.

  • Host model and linked geometry handled together
  • No Revit Rooms, no project levels
  • Sloped floor and roof caps supported
  • Doorway gaps closed by inference
  • Vertical connection through slab openings
  • Persistent GUID on every volume
  • Section-box assist for exceptional spaces
  • Regenerate one volume, leave the rest alone

Every cube is then classified against the solid union of those volumes, and the volume's spatial value is written onto the cube. Ready, boundary review, ambiguous or outside: you accept the reviews yourself, one cube at a time or across a whole selection.

03 · ELECAXIS ROUTE

Every metre, drawn on your own cable trays.

Cable lengths, generated automatically. ROUTE starts from the cable trays you actually modelled, filtered to the exact parameter value you choose, projects every cube onto the network, and finds its way to the board.

Modelling defects do not stop it. Misalignments, broken connections, skewed geometry, isolated components: ROUTE projects, corrects and repairs, and always ends up finding a path. It ranks the alternatives by modelled coverage, topology credibility, direction continuity, and only then by length.

The lengths and the cable register come out of the same pass: ten days of reworking the register type by type become one regeneration with no re-entry — and every repair stays counted separately.

Accepted routes are saved inside the model as persistent records. Reload them next session, select their exact model lines, and export any batch again without rerunning the simulation.

The paper trail

Numbers arrive with their working shown.

The volume report

Four sheets, one workbook

Volume summary, type breakdown, cube audit and export information. Counts per type, total active power, and apparent power for phases one to three, per volume.

The routing workbook and register

Length, its working, and the quantities

Calculated length, your security margin, the formula-driven adjusted length, modelled and estimated lengths, modelled coverage, confidence, repair counts and status, cube by cube. Then the bilingual cable register and its quantity summaries by service, type, composition and external diameter.

The locating report

Dashboard and detail

A summary dashboard, the preserved lookup-level audit, match-level detailed results, and export information. French or English, your choice at export.

The revision audit

Revision to revision

A standalone bilingual workbook classifying what changed between two revisions of the linked model: new, moved, deleted, duplicated.

The JSON snapshot

Repeatable evidence

A read-only diagnostic of the whole run, for support and for repeating a result later.

Ambiguous and excluded items stay visible in the audit and stay out of the totals. Nothing is quietly dropped.

Straight answers

The questions people actually ask.

We would use this a few times a year. Is a seat worth it?
That is the right question to ask before buying anything. Tell us how many projects a year and how many people touch the model, and we will quote for that, including single-tool options. If the answer is no, we will say so.
Is this another IT product?
No. The three plugins were written by an engineer who spent eleven years on large industrial projects, across every trade, doing this work by hand. The conventions, the classifications and the shared parameters you use were known before the first line of code — which is why the tools bend to your method rather than the other way round.
Which Revit versions?
Revit 2023 and 2024, on .NET Framework 4.8. Revit 2025 and later moved to .NET 8 and need a separately compiled target, which is not part of this release.
Will our IT team have to get involved?
No. The installer runs per user, not as Administrator, and writes only to your own add-in folder. Nothing is installed machine-wide, and no server is needed.
What does it write into our model?
Only what you approve. Cubes are non-hosted family instances placed where you confirm them. Volumes are Generic Model DirectShapes owned by the plugin. Native Revit Comments is never touched, and every deletion asks first.
How long before someone is productive?
Each plugin runs a numbered three-stage flow with live counters and buttons that stay disabled until the stage is valid. An engineer who knows Revit gets through a first real batch in an afternoon.
Can we try it on a real project first?
Yes, and you should. Install the trial, run it on a copy of a live model, and check the exported numbers against what you already know. That is exactly what we want to be judged on.
Does anything about our project leave the building?
No model geometry is transmitted. Activation checks a licence, then the tools work offline. The privacy notice ships with the installer in French and English.
The linked model came back revised. Do we start over?
No. LOCATE keeps a baseline inside your host model, compares the new revision, classifies every record, and synchronises only the rows you accept. Two days of analysis become one minute, at every revision.
